C.F.C.A.L M.S. Varsity Soccer Rules 2021
- Ref fees are $35 per school per game
- Ball: size 5 (M.S)
- 11 v 11 (Middle School)
- Games are 20 minute halves with 5 minute halftime
- Each team must have at least 2 girls on the field at all times, and must play a man down for every girl not on the field.
- Substitutions: They may be made as often as you want but only on your goal kick, throw-in, or on a kickoff. You may not sub on a direct or indirect kick.
- Varsity is allowed to slide tackle and head the ball, but high kicking is not allowed.
-JV is NOT allowed to slide tackle but they ARE allowed to head the ball. High kicking is still not allowed.
- In the regular season there will NOT be a shootout if the game is tied at the end of regulation, it will end in a tie. During the playoffs, there will be shootouts but NO OVERTIME to break a tie game.
- MERCY RULE: Any time a team goes up by more than 8 goals, the remainder of the game may be forfeited unless the losing team wishes to continue playing. If they choose to forfeit the remainder of the game, play stops.
- Total team points will be used to determine final standings for tournament seeding if there is a tied record. Teams will receive 3 pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie, and 0 pts for a loss.
- If a game is played until half time and then called, then it is considered a full game no matter the circumstances
(Ex. Weather, field issues, etc...).
-Offsides rules apply per FHSAA standards.
-Yellow and Red card rules apply per FHSAA standards.
- Initial possession will be determined by a coin toss with team captains. The opposite team will receive the ball during the second half.
-If a game starts more than 5 minutes late, play time will need to be adjusted to ensure the following game starts on time.
